Stuff accumulates through the years.
Do you have the patience to figure out WHAT you need to keep?
We can figure out WHERE to put it,
so you can FIND IT again?
Let's go on a TREASURE HUNT
to discover what is archived in the garage.
We can figure out what needs to be purged, saved so it can be found again, or ACTUALLY USED.
Writing your own RESUME is difficult.
Deciding on a CAREER or JOB comes first.
I have career counseling and resume writing experience, so I can help you sort and organize your ideas and words.
Papers pile up.
We can PURGE what you don't need.
Tax papers may not bring you joy, but
you still need to keep them.
We can figure out and create a
FILING SYSTEM that works for you.
Whether you have a home WORKSHOP or work in the TRADES,
you have a variety of TOOLS and SUPPLIES.
I have residential construction experience, so I can help you figure out
WHERE to find what you need,
WHEN you need it.
Sometimes you don't know
HOW or WHERE to find what you need...
or even WHAT you need.
Bounce an idea off a neutral 3rd party, brainstorm, or seek information about business ideas,
sorting through someone's estate, or
almost anything else.
I enjoy making CONNECTIONS between people, ideas, hints/hacks, and resources.
Function, not frills or expensive containers.
EFFICIENCY.
Seeing the "big picture" and the details as inter-related, rather than separate issues is VALUABLE when figuring out
organizational systems
that will work for YOUR LIFE.
I am often described as:
logical
analytical
pragmatic
curious
You can tap into my brain and benefit from the ways I'm constantly integrating what I have learned and am learning, based on my varied interests, skills, and education.
My education includes:
Residential Construction (certificate)
Human Resource Management (MLHR)
Counseling Psychology (MA)
Professional organizing can be
VERY PERSONAL.
You are the client, and you will be living with the outcome of our time together,
whether it involves your dwelling or shop,
an estate you are sorting through, or something else.
Each situation is different.
What works for one client may not
work for you.
Providing YOU with a more functional life challenges me to think about
what currently works for you,
what things you possess,
what you need (like your tax records), and
what YOU want.
Dress code: CASUAL
Discussion: HONEST
I noticed an odd pattern when I was meeting with resume and/or career counseling clients.
If we were in professional attire, our conversation was stiff and guarded.
If we were in jeans and t-shirts, we quickly found what REALLY MATTERED.
Clients openly discussed other
career-related factors, such as relationships.
Thus, our time together was EFFICIENT.
The resulting resume and job search were BETTER FOCUSED.
Based on my
Jack of Some Trades brain and skill set,
just ask me almost anything.
I love sharing hints/hacks and other information I have heard/read/experienced on all sorts of topics, including:
-Helping to settle an estate
-My diabetes journey from discovery through insulin, Metformin, and weight loss to a life of being able to eat "normally" and not take any diabetes medication after
only 18 weeks.
I even had a
Human Resource policy discussion
while painting a
Chamber of Commerce office.
So... just ask.
I understand starting a
new life in a new environment.
I am a James Madison University alum.
I lived in 9 houses in 4 states during the first 15 years of my adult life, including a second time in Harrisonburg, VA
A few more moves mostly included
the Twin Cities / Minneapolis, MN.
I decided to emerge from the pandemic and return to live in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 2021.
My love of geometry came in handy when packing boxes and moving vans.
I welcome face-to-face meetings near Harrisonburg, VA.
Outside of the Burg... let's talk.
Literally.
Or use cyberspace.
WHAT and HOW do I charge?
A fair, consistent hourly rate is logical,
since you might want assistance on a
variety of projects or topics.
If you need my 2 hands and brain to go somewhere in the NE metro (i.e., organizing an office), then I have a 3-hour minimum.
If you need my brain for less time
(i.e., asking a random question, reviewing a resume via email, or providing progress reports as I sort through an estate for an executor who lives in another state),
then it is logical to bill in 15-minute increments.
Checks made out to "Living Logically, LLC" are best right now.
I will be looking into ways to take credit cards, since they are a great tool for tracking your expenses. And they don't require the cost of a stamp or the hassle of finding an envelope and mailbox.
Living Logically, LLC is a licensed business in Harrisonburg, VA with liability insurance through All State Insurance. I also have personal health insurance thru BCBS.
I passed the Minnesota Contractor License exam and have taken numerous Continuing Education courses that are applicable in VA.
TAX: If this is required for any services,
then it will be communicated before performing any service.
MARK-UPS: not on the cost for supplies, such as trash bags or storage bins.
Depending on your needs, we will discuss any shopping or travel time
BEFORE it happens.
If you have comments or suggestions
for how I can better help you,
please let me know.
WHEN you have additional questions...
just ask.
